A visit of my birthplace with my brother Matthias

Yesterday (Saturday, August 4th, 2018) I met my brother Matthias for a visit of the place where I was born. The house of my parents in Potsdam and it’s environment, the river called HAVEL. The weather was great, a wonderful summer day.

Matthias picked me up with his car at the S-Bahn station in Berlin-Wannsee.

Waiting … 😊
There he is… my brother Matthias (left) and me 😂

We enjoyed the ride along the lake Wannsee and crossed the city limits of Berlin and Potsdam which are only some meters away one from each other.

Potsdam is a town with many sightseeing possibilities like the well known castle Schloss Sanssouci and its surrounding Park Sanssouci including another castle called Neues Palais, the Orangerie, the Chinese Tea House and many other small and big things worth seeing. Back in the days, Sanssouci was the summer residence of the Prussian and German Kaiser (Emperor). Potsdam’s citizens were mostly Members of the Imperial court, staff of the Emperor, military, rich merchants and fishermen.

After the Emperor’s abdication, the occupations of the inhabitants changed a little, the wealth remained. The existence of Potsdam as part of East Germany during the period of German division after the Second World War did not change this fact either.

However, I was born in Potsdam and later I moved to the western part of Berlin (Zehlendorf).

My parents‘ house.

My parents’ house is in Potsdam-West, directly on the river Havel.

My brother sits and watches the boats on the river Havel.
The so called „Water Taxi“ brings people from one village alongside the river Havel to another village, the camping sites and restaurants or hotels or to the cities of Potsdam and Berlin.

We remembered our childhood days. Our parents were very diligent and smart. My father led a building material warehouse and my mother worked in a nursery school.

My dad was a passionate piano and accordeon player too! He took us kids to a lot of concerts he played and, of course, to a lot of concerts from several bands and solists. Also, he taught me how to play the piano and the accordeon. He taught me how to read and write sheet music. Indeed, he was my musical teacher and coach.

Our parents worked hard to make a lot of things possible for us kids. They were tough but we kids had a lot of fun too.

The Yacht Harbour next to my parents‘ house.

It was a usual thing that we kids were very often on the river Havel with canoes, boards and lots of other swimming stuff. 😂 During hot summer days we often went down for bathing with our friends or alone. Or we took our bicycles to drive around down at the river.

At the end of our day, my brother and me had Ragout Fin and Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln und gemischter Salat aus der Heimatregion (Schnitzel with fried potatoes and mixed salad with veggies from the domestic region) at the restaurant “Westufer”. It was really yummy!

In fact, we decided to spend time at and around our parents’ house again with our German and Japanese families and friends in 2019! It was so awesome!

Thanks to my brother Matthias! With his hospitality, he made this wonderful Saturday possible! Thanks again! Thank you for everything, big brother!

Instrumental single 「Sakura Dori」release decision

Tom Kolbe - SAKURA DORI single cover
Tom Kolbe – SAKURA DORI single cover

There are so many streets called 「Sakura Dori」in Japan. Inspiration for my song was the Sakura Dori street in Nagoya, my hometown. I literally know this street back and forth because I walked it up and down many many times. The cherry trees, all the shops and restaurants, the Nagoya International Center and of course at one end the twin towers of Nagoya Station. Evenings all the people who go out to eat, make party or dance somewhere, the people at 7-Eleven and the Famima … this street has its special magic touch I tried to catch in my song.

「Sakura Dori」is music for the fans of instrumental electronic and chillout music and my second musical reminiscence to the city I love like no other place in this world: Nagoya.

I will release my song on my label TMM Stardust, release date is September 17th, 2018. It will be the first release under my real name Tom Kolbe.

Some words about Yuto F.

A former member of my staff created chaos in the life of other people and in my life. To continue posting on my SNS during my last very long medical rehabilitation, Mister F. received my account data. Instead of doing the right things, he pretended to be me in such a sick manner that he fooled all: fans, music lovers, idol otakus, family members of japanese idols, journalists, other staff members and also my friends and family members. In simple words: he was a trickster.

After the revelation of his betrayal (forced by me after I left the rehab), my reputation was killed. People weren’t able anymore to recognize me as the right person, as the right Mister Topazz or Mister Kolbe.

I feel regret to put trust in Mister F., a trickster who fooled everyone.

I still feel special regret that this guy fooled a family member of a beloved idol from Nagoya. I feel regret for my lack of compassion for her mum and her and for my own bad behavior.

I never did bad things to other people but this is meaningless because I trusted a trickster who caused massive trouble. Mister F. was arrested by the police in Berlin, I filed a lawsuit against him. Last Friday he was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment. The damage is irreparable. Nevertheless, let us all feel satisfaction.

I hope that I am able to regain reputation.

Sorry again and thank you.

Tom
